May 17, 2014 is a wedding day that will be etched into my mind for a good long time. Evan & Mandie Dear (or should I say Mevan) had the most fantastic of weddings. One of those weddings that made me stare wide-eyed when I saw the bride in her stunning dress, shed a few tears during the ceremony, giggle behind the camera during speeches, and stay after the photography booking ended to dance with the awesome guests.
Evan & Mandie met through a mutual friend after both doing YWAM, an overseas biblical discipleship program, in different parts of the world. After a few years of friendship, followed by a few DTRs, and a lot of prayer, the two started dating. Another 2 years later and there was a ring on Mandie’s finger! (Funny story about the day Evan proposed: the two of them were walking hand in hand on the White Rock pier, on the way to the spot Evan planned to get down on one knee. Mandie said, “Do you remember the first time we held hands? And I couldn’t even look at you for 5 minutes?” Then she said, “I guess we don’t have the same butterflies now because nothing’s really new.” Evan had to fight to play it cool and said, “Well you know maybe someday something will be new.”… or maybe in like 5 seconds!).
These two are just fantastic, full of life and so quick to share that fellowship & fun with others. This couple knows how to thrift shop, craft, dance, and just have a good time. And their wedding was a great time! By the number of guests who came (and the ones who watched their ceremony online!) it was evident that Evan & Mandie are dearly loved. We are all so excited for these two, and cheering them on as they begin this new adventure. Congratulations Evan & Mandie!
