I love a little destination getaway. For John & Kristen’s engagement session we hopped on a ferry and sailed to beautiful Gibsons, B.C. (only a short ferry ride within Howe Sound). Gibsons is a special place for these two. It’s where John first asked Kristen out, and many day-trip dates there followed over the years. It’s also where John proposed. And I guess we can also add their engagement shoot to the list of things they’ve done at Gibsons ;)
The beach where we did part of their session was the exact same beach where the proposal took place in February of this year. The two of them had gone snowshoeing for the day and on the way back to the ferry John diverted their course and stopped at this beach, the same beach he had first asked her out. After completing a crossword, John got down on one knee and asked Kristen to be his wife. She responded with the three-letter word he was hoping to hear. The two celebrated with champagne and sat together watching the sunset, enjoying the evening as a newly-engaged couple.
May 2014 marks the start of John & Kristen’s life as husband and wife, and I’m excited to capture it!
