Evan and Mandie are some kind of wonderful. I have so much love for these two, both as individuals and as a couple. Both of them are involved at Ethos and at Anvil Island – two of my favourite things (literally, both are on the list of my favourite things on the About page). I love their hearts for the Lord and his Kingdom, their love for others, and their genuine desire to serve. Oh, and they are a lot of fun too. In case the dancing/goblins-under-the-bridge/silly-face photos didn’t give that away ;)
I was planning on saving this thought for the wedding blog post, but I just couldn’t wait! When I asked Evan & Mandie what excites them about the future, I was so encouraged by their answers. Out of the 3 things they listed, none of them were about themselves. The first thing they said was, since they are both gifted in different ways, they look forward to serving the community as couple. Mandie said she’s also very excited for what she envisions their home to be – a welcoming and safe place. Lastly, they both envision doing long-term missions down the road. Wow. I sat and listened, amazed at their servant hearts and how I see Jesus reflected in their lives. It just makes me all the more honoured and excited to photograph them on their wedding day! And if this engagement shoot is any indication, I think it’s safe to say I can anticipate a wedding full of beautiful smiles, fun, laughter, and dancing! May 2014 couldn’t come soon enough!
