Something a little different from my usual portrait sessions this time of year. It’s fun to change things up every once in a while!
If you asked me what possessed me to make a giant version of Settlers of Catan like I did a year and a half ago, I wouldn’t be able to give you an answer. I suppose the best explanation is my love for my friends. So we’ll go with that :)
Originally I made the game as a combined birthday gift for 6 of my friends, who all happen to be big settlers fans, in September 2011. We had a grand time strategizing, throwing the huge dice into the air, and celebrating their birthdays. But since then the game has been collecting dust in the garage, so I decided it was about time to put it to use again! The Krause family was starting a youth alpha in their home, and Giant Settlers was the perfect way to kick it off!
I decided to bring my camera along as a way of remembering how huge (and fun!) the giant version is… and so that I could share a few photos as proof!
